NFL Week 7 is upon us in all of its fantasy goodness. It’s getting to that point in the season where all clichés apply – it’s time to separate the men from the boys, win one for the Gipper, sh** or get off the pot, err, well you get the picture.
Let’s take a look and see who’s starter worthy and who’s riding the pine this week.
Blake Bortles – The Raiders defense is a panacea for all QBs. The icing on the cake for Bortles is that Oakland is travelling across the country for an early 10 am ET start. If Bortles doesn’t do it here, he’ll be dead to me. I’ll be dumping him for the rest of the year.
Matt Ryan / Phillip Rivers
With the highest over / under total for the week (53.5), we expect both offenses to dominate in this one. Ryan has proved that he is a must start against anyone, with his recent success away at both Denver and Seattle. Rivers had a down week against Denver last week, which isn’t uncommon, but we expect him to bounce back against the porous Falcon D this week.
Honourable mention: Kirk Cousins / Matt Stafford. There will be a lot of points scored in this one and we expect both QBs to be slinging it downfield throughout the contest.
Carson Palmer – The Seahawks defense is like the Raiders, but the opposite. It’s a corollary to the Raiders defensive rule . . . sit your QBs against the ‘Hawks. It rarely ends well for opposing QBs against this stout D!
Carson Wentz – this isn’t rocket science folks. The Vikings defense is scary good, a place where fantasy QBs shrivel and die. We expect a long day for the rook this week.
Brock Osweiler – let’s throw in one more QB who’s in over his head this week as he travels back to the mile high city to face the pissed off Denver defense coming off of a loss. Also, factor in that Brock was a no show to the White House and at the ring ceremony – there is no love lost between him and his former team. 50 / 50 chance he makes it through the game as the starter.
Best of luck this week with all your starts!
