Looking for a reason not to hate Jay Cutler (as much)?
Read on for your Week 9 Buy Low – Sell High candidates:
We are officially into the second half of the fantasy football season. If you’ve already banked six or more wins, congratulations – it’s time to start focusing on the Week 14 fantasy playoffs.
If you’re in the middle of the pack, no worries …keep reading and we’ll see if we can’t help you finish strong and do some damage in the playoffs.
Devontae Booker – Denver RB
You may still be able to buy low on Booker who was solid in his first game as the Broncos bellcow RB. He has a minor shoulder injury and had a one-yard TD vultured by Juwan Thompson. Focus on these limitations when approaching his owner. He’s got the porous Raiders and Saints run defense on deck.
Dennis Pitta – Baltimore TE
He’s had 20 targets his past two games. The longer Steve Smith Sr. is out, the more valuable Pitta is. Coming off a Week 8 bye, he has two favourable home matchups against the Steelers and Browns. He leads the Ravens in receptions and has a lot of PPR upside.
Alshon Jeffery – Chicago WR
His best games come with Cutler under centre. He’s on bye in Week 9, so you may be able to snag him from a panicked owener looking to fill in some bye slots. His fantasy schedule during the playoffs is all cake (Week 13 – 16; 49ers, Lions, Packers, and Redskins). Boom!
Theo Riddick – Detroit RB
The oft-injured Riddick lit it up this week in Houston taking advantage of a soft Texans run defense. In Week 9 he’s travelling to Minnesota, followed by a Week 10 bye. Sell, sell, sell.
Jordan Reed – Washington TE
Reed dominated in Jolly ‘Old against the Bengals. This is what he does, when he’s healthy. Problem is, I can’t keep track of his concussions (nor can he, I reckon). He’s a man among boys when healthy, but he’s always a hit away from missing the rest of the season. Cut your losses – he’s on bye this week. Sell high!
Davante Adams – Green Bay WR
High risk, high reward potential transaction. He’s been targeted 30 times combined in the past two weeks, snagging 25 catches. This type of volume can’t be ignored, however, I don’t think that it can be sustained either. He caught 12 balls last week, but with 74 yards and no TDs. Reasonable PPR production, but sub-par in standard leagues. Time to cash out.
Check back next week for another run of Buy Low – Sell High candidates.
Best of luck this week with your matchups.
